The "Inner Privacy" collection is influenced by the inner life. The kernel of the concept came about after reading Virginia Woolf's 'Mrs Dalloway' and an article about the book in The New Yorker, it was about her sense of inner privacy and the fact that we all live at least as much in our heads as we do in the world.
The phrases - Anxiety, Jealously, Unrequited Love, Melancholy, Inner Self, True Self and La Douleur Exquise - are all nods to the interior life.
Each jumper is handcrafted in Portugal using pure Italian merino wool. As the collection is Spring Summer we switched to merino wool as the natural properties of the wool react to changes in your body temperature, keeping you warm when it’s cold and cool when it’s hot.
"Inner Privacy" is the first time that we've used embroidery on our jumpers, we are working with a small high quality manufacturer in England.
As "Inner Privacy" takes influence from writers it felt apt to create a booklet of writing to complement the collection. We commissioned writers with the brief to write a short piece exploring the theme:
