Introducing our new collaborative collection with artist Isaac Benigson!

We are huge fans of Isaac’s art, his marvellous use of colour and completely idiosyncratic aesthetic. Collaborating with him, his art and his amazing sense of style (he always looks finely turned out on Instagram) was so much fun and the result of it is something very different for HADES.
Benigson lives and works in London, his artistic work is strongly rooted in his love of portraiture and outsider art of the 20th Century.
The collection introduces a lightweight knitted ‘Isaac’ Cardigan, digitally printed with twelve of Benigson's oil portraits. And a HADES classic Carrington cardigan adorned with Issac's portraits in miniature gold-plated frame buttons, crafted in Birmingham’s historic jewellery quarter.

“This collaboration with HADES fits perfectly with my love for party clothes," explains Benigson. "These marvellous cardigans, I believe, would turn heads at any glamorous evening affair or stroll through a country field.”
The HADES classic black Carrington cardigan is adorned with Isaac's portraits in miniature gold-plated frame buttons. Each button is crafted by hand in Birmingham’s historic jewellery quarter.

A mould of the button is first hand sculpted from wax, an ancient technique going back 6,000 years. When the wax mould is perfect the button is cast in metal, Issac's portraits are cut to size and glazed into the metal button. The buttons are then plated in gold and polished to perfection.

We're delighted to work with another independent family business in making these buttons!
