The Afternoon of Life collection celebrates the second act of life.
Inspired by Carl Jung’s theories on how to age well – “The first half of life is but preparation for the second.” Jung posited that we cannot live the second half of life as we have the first, what is required is to let go of the seeking of external achievements, and instead move from the external to the internal. The pieces in this collection reflect these ideas.
This collection marks a series of firsts for HADES. Screen-printed knits, with visible halftone dots showing the beauty of the printing process. Our first lambswool skirt carries the familiar softness of a HADES knit in a new form and colourful arm warmers that we recommend layering over a shirt or t-shirt to add texture to any outfit.
Screen printing is a collaborative craft between printer and artwork; each pull produces a unique variation, leaving the artist’s hand visible in every piece. Using traditional methods, prints are applied directly onto lambswool knit with hand-mixed, eco-friendly pigments and binders. They're then dried and cured to make the print permanent, durable, and wearable.

The Gesture Knit and Second Half of Life Skirt have visible paint strokes made with a paintbrush. While the Eternity Jumpers are printed with a screen, featuring a Jung-inspired manifesto text.
Every piece is screen-printed in Birmingham by Kav Najran. We hope you can see the time and care that has gone into creating each piece! The AW25 campaign is photographed at The John Bowen Gallery by Joseph Esapa, artwork by RJ Davis and Hannah Al-Shemmeri.
